Asian American Voices is the fourth annual China Now Music Festival presented by the US-China Music Institute. This year, as we continue to pursue our vital mission of introducing the music of contemporary China in the West, we are broadening our scope to include the voices of a wide array of Asian American composers, with the aim of exploring their importance in contemporary American music and society.
Concerts at the Fisher Center at Bard College and streaming online feature major new works from composer in residence Huang Ruo, plus a selection of chamber and symphonic pieces from composers Tan Dun, Peng-Peng Gong, Jin Hi Kim, Takuma Itoh, and more. Ensemble in residence Del Sol Quartet from San Francisco, and Bard’s own The Orchestra Now will perform, conducted by the festival’s artistic director, Jindong Cai.
