The Conservatory’s five-year double-degree program includes students majoring in erhu, dizi, guzheng, konghou, Chinese percussion, pipa, ruan, suona, and guqin. Students of other Chinese instruments are welcome to apply. Studio instruction is provided by the world-renowned Central Conservatory of Music, using our state-of-the-art video conferencing facility as well as in-person lessons on the Bard campus and in Beijing.

how to apply

Applying to the Bard Conservatory requires two applications, one for Bard College (the Common Application), and one for the Conservatory.

Applications are due annually on January 1.

Students in the Chinese instrument program at Bard perform regularly in solo concerts, small mixed Chinese/Western chamber ensembles, and the Bard Chinese Ensemble, which holds a public concert on the Bard campus every semester.

巴德美中音乐研习院的中国民族乐器专业学生定期参加独奏音乐会、中西合奏室内乐演出，并加入巴德民乐室内乐团（Bard Chinese Ensemble）。巴德民乐室内乐团每学期在巴德学院校园举办公开音乐会。
